Robert Max Gaebler, 70, of the Five-In-One Community passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at his home. Max was born August 28, 1936 in Vernon, a son of the late Robert Lee and Edith Earlene Hix Gaebler. He married Shirley Frizzelle on July 14, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan. Max was a farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a past master and current Senior Warden of the Thalia Masonic Lodge. Max was an outstanding mechanic who could tell you what was wrong with an engine by just listening to it. He was also an inventor, creating devices of all kinds to improve life and make work easier. He and Shirley spent many years creating a beautiful home and yard and enjoyed spending time there. Robert Max was an avid student of Indian relics, archaeology, nature, history and science and would study a subject until he mastered every aspect of it. Survivors include his wife, Shirley of the home; one son, Robert Lee Gaebler of Vernon; one sister, Kathy Gaebler Durr of Denison; two grandchildren, Dixie and Bobby and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers- Bud and Jerry; one sister-Jeannie Gaebler Kilman and one nephew-Kenny Kilman.

Cremated, Ashes scattered.
Specifically: Max's ashes were placed among the native oaks on his beloved farm.
