Mr. Lester D. "Jim" Cook, 80, of 12293 Pen Mar Road, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 in NMS Health Care, Hagerstown, MD.

Born December 1, 1929 in Quincy, PA, he was the son of the late Lester B. and Gladys E. (Duffield) Cook.

Mr. Cook attended Quincy Township High School.

In early years, Mr. Cook was employed at Altenwald Feed Mill, Chambersburg Livestock, Waynesboro Shoe Factory and Ice and Cold Storage in Greencastle, PA. He later was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA, from 1951 until his retirement in 1988.

Mr. Cook enjoyed raising and showing pigeons and other small animals and also loved Poodles.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Jean (Burkhart) Ward Cook; five children, Douglas Cook of Shippensburg, PA, Steven Cook of South Mountain, PA, Thomas Cook of Mont Alto, PA, Gregory Cook of Quincy, PA and Judy Cook Miller of Fayetteville, PA; two step-children, Michael Ward and Tammy Ward Wetzel, both of Chambersburg; ten grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anne Webster.
