Permelia Phillips Sheffield
The picture on file of Permelia's gravesite is from Linda Sheffield Steele and her note about the picture reads:
This is at the Keaton Cemetery... some call it the Old Damascus Cemetery.... It is about a mile from Damascus in Early County GA. What we could read on the broken slab is " PAMELA Consort of Arthur Sheffield September 5, 1796 April 25, 1854 in the 58th year of her age. The writing is barely legible on the photo. Arthur is also buried here. Arthur's gravesite has an iron fence and gate around it.
Permelia's father was Daniel Phillips. A list of Daniel Phillip's children was left by Grandson John Calhoun Sheffield (1832-1919). They were as follows: John, Joe, Silas, Benjamin, Susan and Permelia and there may be more.
