Timothy W. Bell, 32, of Glenview, died Feb. 7 in Glenview.
Born Nov. 3, 1975 in Evanston, he graduated from Glenbrook South High School, where he received the Principal's Award, was "Student of the Week," received honors in Spanish and sports broadcasting, and was a member of the National Honor Society.
He attended Oakton Community College and graduated magna cum laude from Trinity International University with a degree in English/communications. He was sports editor at both colleges and was the sports announcer, "Voice of Trinity," before and after graduation. He worked in sports information at Trinity for three years after graduating.
For the past six years, Mr. Bell had worked in adult computer services at the Glenview Public Library. He was also an English as a Second Language tutor in his home.
He was a member of Glenview Community Church, where he was a Sunday School assistant.
He was the North Shore Poster Child for Muscular Dystrophy in 1987 and was an Eagle Scout.
He was featured on WGN Channel 9's "Extra Effort Award" segment in 1993.
He was the recipient of the Department of Human Services "Workplace Spirit" award.
He was an avid sports fan and was interested in model railroading, music, computers and crossword puzzles, according to relatives.
His father, Frederick M. Sr., died Friday, the day after his son. His obituary appears above.
Private services are planned.
Interment was private. Memorial donations may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3300 E. Sunrise Drive, Tucson AZ 85718.
