Edward Lloyd Bradley, was born in New Castle, PA on Aug. 4, 1925 he was a resident of Glenview since 1950.
He served the community as president of the District 34 Board of Education and in leadership positions with the Glenview Community Church.
He coached youth baseball, Little League and basketball.
He was a loyal fan of the Cubs, Bulls and especially his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and Nittany Lions.
He had been a scholarship basketball player at Penn State and received his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
He was serving on a Naval destroyer when the Japanese surrendered.
He was an executive with Pioneer Service and Engineering, and Fluor Power Systems.
He enjoyed bridge, travel, gardening, investing and his Canadian fishing cottage.
He was the beloved husband of the late Jane Hackney Bradley; loving father of Philip Edward (Jeanette) Bradley and Susan Bradley (Eric) Sutherland; proud grandfather of Andrew Edward and Jacqueline Reine Sutherland and Kate Allison Bradley; dear brother of the late Mildred Bradley Sears.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Glenview Community Church, 1000 Elm St. (at Glenview Rd.), Glenview.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter, 2050 Claire Court, Glenview, IL 60025.
