A truly unique individual, he was a businessman, mayor, chiropractor, philosopher, and holistic healer. He was proud of his WW II Army service in the European theatre. In Holden, MO he was a practicing chiropractor, and also served as the town’s mayor. While early on, a doctor of chiropractic, he later became a holistic healer, combining many skills and techniques to customize the treatment to the individual. He took pride in treating those not responding to traditional treatments. As a small businessman he created several nursing homes and was instrumental in the founding of the retirement communities, John Knox Village, and John Calvin Manor, of Lee’s Summit, MO.
