RACINE - Mr. John David 'JD' Bearden, 66, passed away at St. Mary's Medical Center on Monday, February 12, 2001, after an eight-year battle with cancer. He was born in Hector, Miss. on April 3, 1934. He was raised in Mississippi and lived in Racine for most of his life. John was employed with J.I. Case for 28 years. He loved to fish, hunt, raise Beagles, play cards, and watch wrestling. He also had a great love for his grandchildren. John is survived by his wife, Florine; four children, Mary Bearden, David (Tammy), Dale, and Daniel (Heather) Summerford; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Dawn, Savanna, Ashley, Jill, and Makayla; four great-grandchildren, Cashmere, Dashaun, Jonathan, and Amber; three brothers, Van, Harold, and Carroll; three sisters, Betty, Shirley, and Joyce, all of Mississippi; and two dear friends, Jim Yancey and Vickie Schram. He was preceded in death by his mother; father; step-mother; dear grandmother; one brother, Darrell Bearden; one sister, Virginia Ashmore; one daughter, Debra Summerford; and two grandchildren, Heidi and Starla Overstreet. Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, February 17, 2001, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
