Mrs John (Sarah Dudley) Barnes was born in Pike Co.,IL. Died at her home 4 miles from Barry, IL. Age 41 yrs. 4 mo. 3 days. She was first married to Jacob Clinging by whom she became the mother of two children. In 1878 she was bereaved of her companion. In 1879 she was married to John Barnes by whom she became the mother of 9 children, three of whom have been taken home. She leaves to therefore morn her death besides her husband, four sisters and one brother, eight children, the youngest whom is but eight months old. After a short service held at the house and conducted by the Rev Young, the body was taken to Stoney Point Cemetery for burial.
