She was born around 1839 or 1840 in Ireland (her birth month was in September).
She was the daughter of Thomas Moran & Mary Hughs/Hughes.
She came to America from Ireland in 1855.

Mary's husband Michael Burk worked at the machine shop (for the railroad we think) in Cockran, Center Township, Dearborn County, Indiana. He was killed in a accident at the age of 37 years. He was first buried in the old city cemetery in Aurora (this may have been the Conwell Street Cemetery which is now defunct), but at a later date (December 3rd, 1880) was moved to Riverview Cemetery, Aurora, Dearborn County, Indiana by his wife Mary (Moran) Burk/Burke. He now rests in Section L, No 157 with some of his and his wife's family.

When Mary's father, Thomas Moran, died in August of 1859, he was first buried in the old city cemetery (this may have been the Conwell Street Cemetery which is now defunct), Mary (Moran) Burk/Burke had his remains moved in 1885 and placed with his wife Mary (Hughs) Moran in Riverview Cemetery (Section L, No 157), Aurora, Dearborn County, Indiana.
