Birth: Nov. 23, 1853
Ohio, USA
Death: Aug. 28, 1907
Brown County
Minnesota, USA

Frank Augustine of Albin, well known farmer and Brown county resident, was in Sleepy Eye Wednesday, apparently enjoying good health, never dreaming that possibly in a few hours he would pass to the great beyond. Along about 4 o'clock he started for home. When about a mile south of Iberia he was apparently stricken with heart failure and fell out of the wagon and died. A farmer named Henry Franzel was behind the unfortunate man, also going home from town, and he states that both teams were traveling in a walk when Mr. Augustine fell out of the wagon. The incident happened near Fred Crumlet's farm and the body was picked up and Deputy Coroner Dr. Wellcome notified. In company with Peter Majewski went to the scene of the accident and examined the body. No marks of violence or bruises were found on the body and it was found the neck was not broken. No inquest was deemed necessary, Dr. Wellcome gives it as his opinion that paralysis of the heart was undoubtedly the cause of death.
Deceased was about 54 years of age and born in Ohio. He was a brother of Ex-County Commissioner J. B. Augustine of Burnstown. He leaves a wife and five children, the oldest being the wife of Louie Riederer, well known farmer of Mulligan.
Besides the brother above mentioned he has two sisters, Mrs. Albert Schramm of New Ulm and Mrs. Geo. Ruby of Burnstown.
Frank Augustine was a genial, wholesouled man, generous to a fault, a kind father and husband, but like many poor mortals in this world at times did not follow the straight and narrow way as regards to his habits. Mr. Augustine's untimely death should only remind us that death comes at a time when least expected.
The bereaved wife and children have the sympathy of friends and neighbors. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at the Leavenworth Catholic church.
