WORLD WAR II

Wilfred August Wolszon, who preferred to be called Bud, was the son of John and Anna (Kujawa) Wolszon. His older brother was Richard and younger sisters were Marlus and Anna Mae.

Bud met his future Wife, Lucille Pflager, on a blind date on July 4, 1947. During that date, Bud told Lucille he would marry her, and he did on September 4, 1948 at St. Adalbert's Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.

They had eight children: John, Paul, Jim, Judi, Beth and Becky (twins), Sue and Cindy.

Bud loved to fish and hunt ducks and geese. He was employed by 3M.

Sadly Bud died from cancer on January 29, 1970, leaving his eight children and his wife, Lucille, who remained devoted to Bud and never wanted to remarry. She kept his bathrobe and her one wish was to be buried with it. Dad's robe was folded and laid on her chest over her heart. They are now beside each other at Fort Snelling after 51 years apart.
