Carrie Belle Smith was the daughter of James Edward Smith and Marcella Mercier. She married Albert Golden Wallace on June 3, 1912, in Ishpeming, Michigan. She and Albert had five children, Floyd Edwin, Richard Golden, May Ann, Harold John and Melvin Earl. Several years following Albert's death in 1928, she married Fred Herring. Carrie died as a result of pancreatic cancer on September 15, 1935.
