Funeral services Were held Friday at 2 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Leland for Orrion T. Ambroson who died unexpctedly Nov. 4 at his home in Leland. Mr. Ambroson had been suffering from a heart ailment.
The Rev. James O. Olsen conducted the rites. Mrs. Lloyd Thorsheim was the soloist and was accompanied by Mrs. Marlin Nolte at the organ. Honorary pallbearers were the following veterans: Orval Bowman, Junior Finer, Melvin Foss, Gilmer Haugen, Marlin Nolte and John Severson. Pall bearers were: Carroll Ambroson, Wilfred Anderson, Robert Ambroson, Kenneth Eidahl, Robert Hagen and Wayne Ambroson. Burial was in the Forest Home cemetery east of Leland.
Mr. Ambroson was born June 9, 1915, in Leland, the son of Oscar T. Ambroson and Tilda A. Anderson. He has lived in Leland during his life. During World War II he was active in overseas duty. He married Rose Nangano of Brooklyn, NY. For the past several years Mr. Ambroson was an employee of the Forest City Grist Mill. Mr. Ambroson was preceded in death by his mother who died in 1956. Surviving him are his wife, one daughter, Donica, 16,
and two sons, Ronald, 12 and Thomas, 11. Other survivors are his father, Oscar T. Ambroson, four brothers, Arthur, Arnold and Oscar M., all of Leland, and Roger of Minneapolis, and two sisters, Carmen M. (Mrs. Peter Romash) of Compton, Calif., an.d Magaret M. (Mrs. Marshall Evenson) of Ontario, Calif., nieces and nephews.
