Van Wert, Ohio, Times-Bulletin, 9/25/1951, page 10: "Miss M. Elizabeth Ackley, 44, died at 4:30 A.M. Tuesday, at her residence, 221 West First Street, after an extended illness. Miss Ackley was born September 7, 1907, in Union Township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Ackley. She is survived by a brother, J. Howard Ackley, of Fort Wayne, and by an aunt, Miss Allie Fox, with whom she resided. For 23 years Miss Ackley was employed in the law offices of Beard, Wise and Beard, of Van Wert. She graduated from Union Township School in 1926, and was a member of the Calvary EUB Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 P.M. at the Gamble-Alspach Funeral Home, with the Rev. E.F. Andree officiating. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home."
