Found in The Columbia Record 06 May 1986: Taft Adams Jr., of 1223 Kink St., died Sunday. Born in Richland County, he was a son of Mrs. Lillie Adams and the late Taft James. He was retired from Richland Memorial Hospital Distribution Department and was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sarah A. Adams; daughters, Misses Adrian and Christy Adams of Columbia; sons, Harry and Marcus Adams of Columbia; brothers, Willie Adams and James E. James of Columbia; sisters, Mrs. Sally Henderson, Mrs. Catherine Rice and Inez Martin of Columbia, Mrs. Essie M. Pearson and Mrs. Bessie M. Adams and Regina Smith of New Haven, Conn.; and grandchildren.
