GERALD FRANKLIN ‘CHUB' CASE
Gerald Franklin "Chub" Case, 78, of La Grande, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 1996 at a local care facility. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Daniels Chapel of the Valley. Mr. Case was born Feb. 14, 1918, at "Latchee" (Lantry) S.D., to Ernest Franklin and Hazel May Case. He moved to La Grande from South Dakota in 1936. On Jan. 24, 1948, he married Afton Thompson in La Grande. He was an insurance salesman for the past several years before retiring worked at the Tropidara. He enjoyed fishing, and years ago did a lot of pheasant hunting. He also played drums in a band. Mr. Case was a past member of the La Grande Eagles Aerie No. 259 and played in softball leagues. Survivors include his wife, Afton Case of La Grande; brother, Al Case of Colton, Calif., and other relatives and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family History Center, 2504 N. Fir St. La Grande 97850.
