Mrs. Dorothy (Straub) Ellsworth, a resident of Galesburg since girlhood and member of a well-known local family, died at 4:05 am today, 12 Mar 1936, in St. Mary's Hospital, where she had been a patient since Saturday. Her health had been poor for seven months. Mrs. Ellsworth resided with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ben J Huff, Jr. 1229 East Main Street, Galesburg.
The daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Weidenhammer) Straub, Dorothy was born 12 Dec 1870 in Murray, Iowa, but came to Galesburg with her parents when a small girl, and attended the schools here. She was married to Ezra Ellsworth in October 1910. He died in August of last year. Mrs. Ellsworth was of the Christian faith.

She leaves six children: Mrs. Bess Huff, Galesburg, Mrs. Gertrude Mathley, Vern E, Chauncey G, and Glen A Stout all of Chicago, and J Francis Stout of Somerville, Mass. One child died in infancy. There are seven brothers and sisters remaining: Mrs. Rose Burke, Roy A, Peach D, Arthur B, and Mrs. Martha Stoner, all of Galesburg; John Straub of Salem, Oregon, and Will Straub of Cameron, IL. A brother Ed is deceased. There are seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter also surviving.

Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church, Galesburg, conducted by Dr. W Harry Freda, pastor. Burial was in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Horton, Hinchliff, and Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
