Archibald G. Gillies
Archibald G. Gillies, 50, of Long Branch, died yesterday (sat) at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.
Born in Glen Lyon, Perthshire, Scotland. Mr. Gillies lived in Michigan before moving to Long Branch 23 years ago. Since 1971 he was vice president of the American Bureau of Shipping, New York. Mr. Gillies was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Long Branch, and Lodge No. 321 F4AM.
Alexandria and Bonhill, Scotland. He was also a member of the Elberon First Aid Squad and the Elberon Fire Company. Surviving are his wife, the former Janet Sprott; a son, Ronald Gillies of Lakehurst; two daughters, Miss Kathleen Gillies and Miss Alexandra Gillies, both of Long Branch; his parents, Mr. and Mr. Donald Gillies of Luss, Loch Lomond, Scotland; a brother, George Gillies of Palm Harbor, Fla., and two grandchildren. The Woolley Funeral Home, Long Branch, is in charge of arraingements


Archie Gillies was a member of the Elberon Engine Company #4 of the Long Branch Fire Dept.
