Edward Butler Dies Wednesday
Edward Butler, 80, of 924 N. Fifth st., died at Lakeview hospital Wednesday morning after a brief illness.
Mr. Butler was born at Wells, Minn., Sept. 26, 1879, and resided there as a young man. For many years he was proprietor of the Park Laundry in St. Paul. In 1921 he came to Stillwater and purchased the Stillwater laundry which he operated for many years and then entered the employment of the Minnesota state prison serving as superintendent of the laundry department until his retirement at the age of 70 years.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge for over 50 years and was presented with a 50 year pin by the Stillwater Lodge No. 179.
Surviving are his wife, Emma C. Butler; one son, Norman, and four grandsons, all of Stillwater, and one brother, John Butler of Tucson, Ariz.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Simonet Funeral Home.
