Ethel Lee Stroud, age 81 of Atlanta, Louisiana, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La.
Mrs. Stroud was born in Natchitoches Parish and was a member of the Atlanta Baptist Church. She worked for many years in retail and enjoyed cooking and gardening. Mrs. Stroud is the daughter of the late Ernest L. Hall and the late Lucille Smith Hall.
She is also preceded in death by her husband: Artis Stroud, two brothers: Forrest Hall and H. L. Hall, and one sister: Shirley Roberson.
Mrs. Stroud is survived by one son: Glen Stroud and his wife Janice of Atlanta, La.; two daughters: Patricia Hennigan and her husband Lloyd of Jena, La., and Nelda Edwards and her husband Don of Missouri City, Tx.; one grandson: Brian Canerday; two granddaughters: Monica James and Shelley Jones; four great grandchildren: Mark Canerday, Logan James, Landry James, and Lauren James; one sister: Ernestine Roden of Hodge, La., and one brother Donnie Ray Hall of Shreveport. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stroud will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield with Dr. Kenneth Hall, Dr. Ray Teal, and Dr. Billy Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Montgomery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
