Atoka, TN - Avnell Forbus Armstrong, 93, retired Retail Manager for Shoe Fair, died October 18, 2017 at Covington Care Nursing & Rehabilitation. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, October 22 at Munford Funeral Home, Munford Chapel. Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, October 23 at Pleasant Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Interment in Mudville Cemetery. Mrs. Armstrong was a longtime member of Pleasant Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a homemaker, enjoyed cooking and quilting and was a World War II bride. Her gifts were caregiving and hospitality. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Armstrong, daughter, Greta Woody and five sisters. She leaves one daughter, Brenda Eckles (Thom); eight grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
