Carl Lewis DALE served in the US Army as a TEC 4 in the North Africa, Sicily, and Europe Theatres of World War II. He was in a unit that freed at least one Nazi Concentration Camp. Carl L. Dale was the recipient of the Bronze Star.

The son of Charles Lewis DALE and Esta Boone DALE, he resided in McRoss, Greenbrier County, West Virginia. Mr. DALE was a bachelor. His older brother was Clayton DALE who lived in Manassas, VA and his younger brother is Richard Muriel DALE of Mill Creek, Randolph County, WV. (After Carl Dale was unable to live independently, his brother Richard and his sister-in-law, L. Verna Trent Dale cared for him.) Also surviving him are two nieces and three nephews, their spouses, children, and grandchildren.
