Born in Orangeburg, S.C., he is survived by wife Mary; sons Frank and Ed; sisters Gloria Fields, Jewel Shirley and Dorothy Neal; and three grandchildren. Graveside services: 9:30 a.m. Thursday at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Aloha attire. No flowers.
