Amado "Al" Aldrete, 75, of Tucson, Ariz., was born on Oct. 31, 1931, and raised in Prescott, Ariz. He passed away on July 20, 2007.
Amado graduated from Prescott High School, class of 1951. He enlisted in the USAF and was stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson. He met his wife of 52 years in Kansas, while on active duty. He served four years and was honorably discharged. Amado worked in the aircraft industry in California from 1955 to 1959 and lived in Glendale, Calif. He attended Glendale Community College, California for one year. He then moved back to his hometown of Prescott in 1960. He was employed by the City of Prescott and he also worked for the Forest Service for a short time. In July 1964, he and his family moved to Tucson so that his youngest son could attend the Arizona School for the Deaf. He was employed by the City of Tucson and Anamax Mining Company. He retired at 55 from Anamax and continued with his interest in real estate until his death. He had rental properties since 1960.
Amado is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Francisca Aldrete; brothers Jose and Gilbert; and sisters Nellie, Theresa and Josephine.
Amado is survived by his wife, Phyllis Aldrete; sons, Daniel of Casa Grande, and Michael and Lawrence of Tucson; sisters, Sarah Litka and Bertha Frias of Prescott and Elizabeth Ramos of West Covina, Calif.; brother Ernest of Pinetop; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
