Maurice Orlando McTyre was born in Marietta, GA and attended Military Academy. Joined the Marine Corp and
became a Warrant Officer and served with the VMO-7 Squadron in the South Pacific as a Pilot.
He returned home and was stationed at El Toro Marine Corp Naval Air Station in California and while en route to meet with Kitty Villavicencio Jacobo for dinner in Los Angeles, he stopped at a store at 52nd and Figueroa St. and while crossing the street was struck and killed by a drunk driver. Kitty was three months pregnant with their child who was born in August of 1947, she was named Louella after his mother Louella Chandler McTyre.
