Donnie Lee Barksdale, 59, of Attalla, passed away after a long, six-year battle with cancer. He was a 1971 graduate of Collinsville High School. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. and Sue Barksdale; father-in-law, Aaron McClendon; brother-in-law and friend, Dennis Willis; great-nephew, Dylan Plunkett. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patsy; son, Matthew Barksdale; daughter, Misty Barksdale; grandchildren; brothers, Garry and Steve Barksdale; sister, Brenda Willis; nephews, Keith Barksdale and Nathan Willis; extended family and friends. The family requested everyone wear "Alabama" shirts to the funeral in loving memory of this huge Alabama fan.
