Lt. Martin Wayne "Marty" "Papa Mart" Berman, age 66, passed away unexpectedly. He was a native of Los Angeles and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired Baton Rouge Police Officer, having served 28 years and retiring with full honors. Marty also served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his adoring wife of 10-and-a-half years, two daughters, step-daughter, son, brother; 8 grandchildren, and other family; also his two adoring dogs, Sandy and Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Thelma Collins Berman, and a brother, Richard Berman.
