Reed Anstine Buried with Military Honors –
Funeral services for Reed Keller Anstine were held Thursday afternoon at Lincoln and Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Methodist church at Meadow Grove. Reed Anstine came to this community with his parents in June 1909, his father W. R. S. Anstine having purchased the Messenger-Advertiser the previous month. On May 9, 1912, W. R. S. Anstine sold his newspaper business to Wolfgang Schmidt and moved to Lincoln. At the time of his death, Tuesday, December 31, which was due to pneumonia, Reed was employed as a receiver by the state banking department. He is survived by his wife, his mother, four children and 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Those who attended the services from this community were: Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Wagner, Messrs. Bradford and Roy Lowe, Harry Browne and Mrs. Jessie Fox.
