Arnold Amick, Once Banker Here, Dies
Arnold Amick, a former Nashuan who had lived in Allison the past few years, died at the Cedar Valley Hospital Sunday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Amick were proprietors of the Home Bakery situated at the place where the Ben Franklin store is now. That is the south half. Mrs. Amick is a sister of Robert and Jerome Walsh of Nashua.

ARNOLD O AMICK
Arnold O Amick, 57, died at 3 a.m.. Monday morning in Cedar Valley hospital at Charles City of a lingering illness of heart disease and complications. He was born June 19, 1897 at Shell Rock, son of James and Addie Amick. He married Delila M. Walsh of Clarksville at Cedar Heights, Nov. 28, 1918. Mr. Amick graduated from Shell Rock high school in 1917. He was a member of the Mehodist Church since boyhood, a member and secretary of the Lions Club, also member of Woodman Lodge. He was employed at the Rath Packing Co., for several years and also was in business in Shell Rock and Nashua.
The family moved to Allison in 1949 where Mrs. Amick is Director of Social Welfare for Butler County. Surviving are the widow; son, Olliver, Illmo Mo.; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Metzgar, Colfax, Iowa; Mrs. Blanche Shipman, Waverly; Mrs. Mildred Martin, Clarksville; and a brother Laurence, Omaha, Neb;.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother James and a sister, Mrs. Mamie Bisplinghoff.
Funeral services were Wednesday at 1:45 at the Jebe funeral home in Shell Rock and at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church. Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery at Shell Rock.
