Robert John "Bob" Adams Sr., 64, Lompoc, CA for the past 35 years, died Sunday, September 16 2012 at the Lompoc Valley Medical Center, Lompoc, CA. He is the husband of Dawn A. (Wisser) Adams. Born in Allentown PA on May 13, 1948 to the late Newton and Mary (Schrey) Adams. He served our country faithfully in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Bob worked for ITT Corporation of Vandenberg Air Force Base as a technical analyst for the past 30 years. He was currently employed by the Indyne Corporation.
Bob was an avid fan of both the Philadelphia Phillies as well as the Philadelphia Eagles. He had a tremendous knowledge of Major League baseball trivia. In his spare time Bob volunteered his time coaching Little League baseball for ten seasons. Bob also enjoyed supporting Lompoc High School athletics. He could be found at most football games, as well as track meets, basketball games and golf matches. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles with his friends from the cardiac rehab center in Lompoc. In his spare time Bob enjoyed playing golf and growing beautiful rosebushes and tomato plants. Bob was the best Dad "Dere" and Husband that anyone could ask for. Bob was a 1966 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School.
In addition to his loving wife of 35 years this past April; Sons Christopher N. Adams of Lompoc, CA, Robert J. Adams Jr. of Norfolk, VA; sister Marie Jagielski and her husband John of Allentown. Predeceased by sisters Marjorie Adams and Susan Strawn.
Family and friends are invited to call 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Church of the Assumption of the BVM, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem (Colesville), PA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem with military honors.
