Sandra Katherine Goodrich, the daughter of John and Vera (Zeigler) Babcock, was born on October 27, 1943, in Corwith. Sandy was raised and educated in Corwith, graduating from Corwith High School in 1961. She loved playing basketball all four years of high school and softball, winning several awards.
After graduation, Sandy moved to Huntsville, Alabama, where her sister lived. She rented a room from a nice widow and worked at Sears from 1962 to 1975.
Sandy moved back to Kanawha in 1975 and married Doyce Goodrich. She received a job at Sears in Mason City where she worked until 1978.
Sandy then worked at Harvey's Market in Kanawha from 1979 to 1987, the Kanawha Community Home from 1987 to 1997, North Central Human Services from 1997 to 2000 and finally Krysillis in Clarion from 2000 until her retirement.
Sandy was a special person, always giving someone a bad time but then turning around giving the biggest hugs. She always knew when you needed a hug. She did a lot of that with the residents of the home while working there. Sandy made the best of the best potato salad. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren. Sandy will be remembered and sadly missed as a dear mother, grandmother, sister, special friend, sister-in-law and aunt.
Sandy is survived by her daughter, Janel Ann Goodrich of Kanawha; son Clinton Earl Goodrich of Kanawha; grandchildren, Dawson and Taylor Goodrich; brothers, Walter (Marge) Babcock of Massachusetts and Lloyd Babcock of Corwith; along with other family members and friends.
