JAMES O. ARMSTRONG
James O. Armstrong, 72, 127 Major Drive, died Monday evening in St. John's Medical Center after a sudden illness.
He was born in Hamilton County and had resided in Anderson since 1948. He was manager of Indiana Employment Security Division, retiring in 1977 after 39 years. He was a member of Refuge Christian Church, Mount Moriah Lodge 77, Royal Arch Masons and Noon Lions Club and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors are his wife, Ethel I. (Anderson); a sister, Mrs. Clemmet (Mildred) Cronk of Anderson; two brothers, Robert Armstrong of Noblesville and Kelly Armstrong of Winter Park, Fla.; one aunt, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, with burial in Brookside Cemetery at Lapel.
