VIRGIL MERLE BEATY, AN AUBURN YOUNG MAN, DIES
In the death Monday morning of Virgil Merle Beaty at his home in Auburn, one of the well known young men of Auburn succumbed to an illness of but a few days duration. He worked until last Wednesday and it was not until Saturday that he was forced to take to his bed.
A complication of kidney, liver and gall trouble was the cause of his death. Five weeks ago Mr. Beaty complained of not being well but he continued working almost to the last. He was employed at the Auburn Automobile company and was a trimmer by occupation.
Mr. Beaty was born April 9, 1900, in Auburn, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Beaty. His mother died in 1916. He was married February 20, 1918 to Myrtle Mae Wolfe and a son, now three years old, was born to them. Beside the widow and son, the surviving members of the family are the father, Arthur Beaty, a brother, Clifton, who is now in Manila, Philippine Islands, in the employ of the United States government, a sister, Edith, who resides at home, and a step-mother.
The deceased was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and an active worker in the young men's class in the Sunday school. He also belonged to Mentor Lodge No. 591, I. O. O. F.
Services were held Wednesday afternoon at St. Mark's Lutheran church. Burial was made in Woodlawn Cemetery.
