Thomas Charlton was a member of Christ Church, Philadelphia.
He served on the Vestry at Christ Church in 1769, and was one of the 82 people who signed the petition requesting a land grant upon which to build St. Peter's Church at 3rd and Pine Streets.

In addition to being dedicated to Christ Church, Thomas and Lettice were considered trustworthy by their friends.

In 1761, Robert Usher of Philadelphia refers to Thomas and Lettice in his Will, per the following:

"I give and bequeath unto Thomas Charlton in this place 300 pounds-and appoint my Friends Thomas Charlton [and others] Executors. Wit: Lettice Charlton."

Robert Usher was buried in Christ Church, as his Find A Grave Memorial #12650466 shows.
