OBITUARY, Sioux City Journal, 1908: In Sioux City, Iowa, Thursday, July 2, 1908, Aaron B. Anderson, aged 81 years of old age. The remains probably will be taken tomorrow morning to Anthon. Mr. Anderson, who had been ailing for some time, about a year ago moved with Mrs. Anderson to 4428 Tyler Ave., Leeds, where he died. they lived for about twenty-five years at Anthon, Iowa. Mr. Anderson is survived also by three sons and one daughter as follows: John, Ben and Walter Anderson, and Mrs. E.E. Dickson, all of this city.
OBITUARY, The Sioux Valley News, 9 July 1908, page 8: Aaron B. Anderson, for many years a resident of this vicinity, died at his home in Leeds, Sioux City, where he moved last spring. He was 81 years old and had lived the life of warrior and pioneer. He fought in the Mexican war and was one of the best known "river" men in the west, his splendid physique, muscle and courage winning for him the soubriquet of "the best man on the river" a title he was not infrequently called upon to defend, but always successfully. Deceased leaves a widow and nine children as follows: John, Ben and Walter at home, Mrs. Redell of Rochester, Minnesota, Mrs. Dixon of Leeds, Mrs. Howe and Milton Anderson of Anthon, Aaron and Robert of Lake Andes, South Dakota. Mr. Anderson was an uncle of C.O. Ashmore, Mrs. W.W. Coon and Mrs. George W. Custer. The funeral was held at Bethel Church near here, July 4, 1908, the body being brought to this station from Sioux City. There was a large number of relatives at the funeral. The pallbearers were George H. Wright, C.H. Wright, F.A. Wright, C.A. Fitch, H.P. Barber and W.B. Clark.
