After several months of failing health, followed by a stroke of paralysis, Perry S. Billings died at his home in this place on Wednesday morning, aged 69 years, 8 months, 5 days.

He was born on the Old Homestead in East Tunkhannock Twp. (now occupied by his brother Nathan Billings) on Oct. 7, 1830. He was the son of Daniel and Elizabeth (Stark) Billings. In 1854, he married Miss Frances, daughter of Austin Lull. They had 5 children, 3 of whom died many years ago from diphtheria, all within two weeks of eachother. The other two: Mrs. A. D. Brundage, of this place and William P. of Kingston, together with his wife, survive him.

He was a member of the Tunkhannock Methodist Church, director of the Tunkhannock Bridge Co., vice president of the Wyoming National Bank and assessor of 1st Ward this borough at the time of his death.

Also survived by 3 brothers and 2 sisters: Nathan, Sarah Armstrong, Mrs. A. Dennis, Draper and Miss Melissa.

Funeral from the house Friday, interment Sunnyside Cemetery.
