Uriel Tuttle was the second born son of four known sons born to Abel Barnes and Midwell Roberts.

Uriel Tuttle was the husband of Huldah Ann Gibbs. They were married on 30 August 1821 in Floyd, Oneida, New York. They
were the parents of eight known children, five boys and three girls. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Lawrence, Van Buren, Michigan, where they resided until their deaths.

Uriel spent his adult life as a farmer in Lawrence, Van Buren, Michigan.
