Christine Marie Caruso, (nee Padalino) 44, of Nutley, N.J., died June 5, 2013.

Christine, a former teacher in the Liberty Academy Charter School in Jersey City, was completely devoted to her two children, Anthony and Jacqueline. She was a caring, passionate educator to all the children fortunate enough to have her as their teacher. Christine also is survived by her loving sister, Diane Morano and her husband Ron. She is survived by two nieces, Christie and Nicole Morano.

Christine was predeceased by her beloved mother and father, Alvin and Jacqueline Padalino. She is survived by her aunts, Marie Tedesco of Vineland; Estelle Martin, of Nutley; as well as several cousins.

Christine was born and raised in Passaic Park for 35 years moving to Nutley nine years ago. Christine graduated from St. Mary's High School in Rutherford and received her Bachelor of Arts degree and teaching certificate from Felician College. Christine enjoyed spending summers at the Jersey Shore, together with her sister and their children. She delighted in taking her children to societal events, such as Broadway shows and other cultural and educational affairs. She worked tirelessly to broaden her children's horizons.

Visiting hours are from Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield, N.J. 07026. The funeral is Monday, going directly to St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church, 868 Ringwood Ave., Haskell, N.J., for a 10 a.m. mass. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: The Caruso Children Educational Fund.
