Rev. Pinckney M. Corsa The Rev. Pinckney Morrison Corsa, 87, of Mercersburg, PA, and formerly of Westminster, MD died Friday, May 7, 2010, at home.
Born June 9, 1922, in Perkasie, PA, he was the son of the late Howard Pinckney and Louise Morrison Corsa. He was the husband of the late Reba Elizabeth Harbison Corsa, whom he married in 1948.
As a Boy Scout, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Lehigh University, where he was a member of the ROTC. He was a World War II veteran, having served in Italy. He was awarded the Soldier's Medal for saving a German POW who had become covered in burning gasoline. After his discharge from the Army he returned to Lehigh. He graduated with honors, receiving a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering. After graduation he went to work for Animal Trap Co. where he met his wife.
In 1954 he attended Kenyon College to become an Episcopal minister. He also later attended Lutheran Thelogical Seminary and earned a master's degree in theology. He was the rector at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Delaware for eight years and at Church of the Ascension in Westminster for 21 years. While living in Westminster, he served several years as the chaplain at Carroll County Detention Center. He also served part time as the chaplain at Fairhaven Retirement Center. In 1988 he retired and moved to Hanover, PA.

He was predeceased by brothers Howard Pinckney Jr., Richard Turner and William Storm Morrison Corsa. There will be no public visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Prince of Peace Church, 20 West High Street, Gettysburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel in Westminster.
