Obit: Joseph J. Biery, 73, one of the county's pioneer farmers and widely known citizens, died Sunday night at 11 o'clock at the family home ten miles north of Frankfort in the Geetingsville neighborhood.
Mr. Biery had been ill for several years. He was born in Clinton County, May 24, 1862, a son of Henry R. and Maria Biery. On October 2, 1883, he was united in marriage with Mary R. Gray. She, with five children, survive.
The children are: Mrs. Charles Cox, Dr. O.E. Biery, Mrs. Arvel O. Quick, Mrs. Dale Shanks and Ralph J. Biery, all of this city or county. Ten grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Biery had resided on the farm where he died practically all his married life. He was active in the affairs of his community and highly respected as a citizen. His religious affiliations were with the Geetingsville Presbyterian Church, which he had long served as a trustee.
Funeral services will be held at the Geetingsville Church this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. O.R. Ransopher will officiate and interment will be at the Geetingsville cemetery.
