He was born on December 23, 1934, in Randolph County, MO, the son of Thomas A. and Mary Lee (Epperson) Ancell. Carl graduated from Higbee High School in 1953. He served his county in the U. S. Navy from 1953 to 1973 serving three tours in Vietnam. Carl was united in marriage to Brenda Stewart in Randolph County on July 6, 1975. After retiring from the Navy, Carl worked for many years for the Randolph County Sheriff's Department from which he also retired. He was a member of the United Trinity Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed fishing, quail hunting and spending time with family.
Carl is survived by his wife, Brenda of the home; by his two sons, Lynn Ancell and wife, Peggy of Moberly, MO, and Dusty Ancell and wife, Wendy of Jacksonville, MO; seven grandchildren, Ehran, Kara, Renee, Luke, Aaron, Oston, and Taylor, and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, T. A., George and Don.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at 10:00 am at United Trinity Assembly of God Church in Macon with Reverend Mike Birdsong officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Visitation will be Monday evening, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at the Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Memorials are suggested to the United Trinity Assembly of God Church.
