Cynthia Ann Bitney passed away Sunday 8 May 2016 at Dove West in Eau Claire, Eau Claire County, Wis. aged 73. Cynthia Ann Nyhagen Bitney was born 20 August 1942 in the Town of Dovre, Barron County, Wis. to Clifford Edward Nyhagen and Lorraine A. Hoefert. (Her obituary incorrectly listed her mother as Hoffert and birth as Chippewa Co, Wis.)

Cynthia married John Elmer Bitney on 25 November 1961 in New Auburn, Chippewa, Wis. at Bethel Lutheran Church with Rev. Elnar Gunnard officiating. (Obituary is incorrect with year of 1962.) Cynthia was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bloomer, Wis. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, fishing with John and sharing a good cup of tea with family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Amy (Dennis) Eliason, Eau Claire, Wis.; four sons: Mark (Wendy) Bitney, Bloomer, Wis; Thomas (Laura) Bitney, Chippewa Falls, Wis.; Bob (Susan) Bitney, Chetek, Wis; and Mitchell (Mona) Bitney of Kongsberg, Norway; two brothers: Allen (Linda) Nyhagen, New Auburn, Wis; and Terry Nyhagen, North Caroline; two sisters: Judy (Eugene) Gravunder, Pine River, Wis.; and Cheri Pooler, Madison, Wis.; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Lorraine (Hoefert) Nyhagen; husband John Bitney; brother Dale E. Nyhagen; and brother-in-law, David Pooler. Funeral services were held on Friday 13 May 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bloomer. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bloomer.
