Blannon Roy Mitchell was born 24 August 1935 in Saint Clair County, Alabama. He married Marcell Hatley in 1954 and later had a common law wife, Ethel Hughes, but never fathered a child. He followed his brother's footsteps and joined the military. After leaving the military, he got in trouble and was sent to Prison. During his stay in Prison, he was transfered and later realized that his brother, James was in the same facility at Huntsville, TX. After his release from Prison, Roy settled in Texas and enjoyed a life of fishing and enjoying the beauty of nature.

Friends would come to him to borrow money and that grew into his being a loan shark. He kept records of who borrowed, owed and had not paid him back. He never kept personal info on the person so after his death his family was unable to collect on the money owed to him.

Blannon Roy's sister, Edna, couldn't make contact with him, and placed a "Missing Person's" report with the Henderson County Sheriff's. They found Roy, dead in the trunk of his vehicle, parked in the Mesquite shopping mall in Dallas, TX on Oct 3, 1991. His sister, Edna, drove to Mesquite, from Alabama to identify the remains. She reconized his belt and boots.

Blannon Roy was laid to rest at the Kemp Cemetery, Kemp, TX in Kaufman County: Federal Road 175 at cross streets: Miller St and Tolosa. From Tolosa St, his marker is about 5 rows in. May he rest in peace.
