Pearl A. "Pam" Andres, 93, of Sandusky, passed away early Saturday morning, March 29, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 1, 1914, in Venice. She was a 1932 graduate of Margaretta High School where, in 1931, she was captain of the girls basketball team that won the Erie County Championship. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by three sons, Col. Dudley Andres of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Karl (Phyllis) Andres of Sandusky and Joel Andres of Castalia; two daughters, Alice (Tim) Sheldon of Willard and Sally (Joe) Verhoff of Bellevue; 12 grandchildren, Vicki Rogers, Laura Wald, Denise Murschel, Tim Andres, Dan Barnett, Tom Barnett, Jami Garman, Jennifer Olsen, Brad Verhoff, Melissa Verhoff, Jason Andres and Justin Andres; 19 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; sister, Sophie "Sally" Andres; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alphons J. "Dud" Andres on Oct. 18, 2001; her parents, Mason and Carolena (Mack) Martin; four sisters, Martha Selke, Catherine Deleruyelle, and two in infancy; and two brothers, Arthur and John Martin.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, and from 10 a.m. Thursday until services at 11 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Road, Sandusky. The Rev. Philip A. Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Venice Cemetery, Margaretta Twp.
