Walter LeGrande (Scotty) Jensen, 92, passed away in Orem, Utah on Friday, February 24, 2006. Walter was born in Sanford, Colorado on January 10, 1914, in the same house that he spent most of his life in.

He became the breadwinner and father image for his entire family when his father James died in 1931. He was a wonderful uncle to his nieces and nephews, and was dearly loved by them.

Walter and Anna Mae Haynie were married in the Provo, Utah Temple on May 20, 1977. In later years they served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in South Carolina, and a temple mission in Denver. Scotty was a devout member of the church all his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Peter Jensen and Lettie Marinda Stevens, his sisters Leila, Marba, Melva, Faye, and Ardell, a brother, James, and granddaughter Kristyn Zenger.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae of Pleasant Grove, Utah, stepchildren Patricia (Paul) Zenger of Littleton, Sandra (Gary) Heaton of American Fork, Utah, and Gary (Terrilyn) White of Murietta, Calif., as well as 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also, a sister, Josephine (Cliff) Johnson of Bountiful, Utah, a brother Wesley (Elaine) Stevens of Mesa, Ariz., a brother-in-law, John Miner of Monte Vista, and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home in Orem. There will also be a viewing at Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa on Friday, March 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Sanford LDS Chapel on Saturday, March 4, 2006, beginning at 10 a.m.

A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Sanford Cemetery.
