Joe Carter, son of Dr. Geo Carter, of this place died Monday, March the 27th, at the home of his father. Joe was 39 years of age, and was born and raised in the Durham settlement. He was a member of the Christian church and has many friends and relatives who will sadly miss him. He leaves a father, stepmother, five brothers and two sisters, also a devoted wife and two dear little boys to mourn for him. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Sears of Fayetteville at the McCord graveyard on Wednesday. The relatives have the sympathy of all the community.
