Judith Kaye (Judy) Erickson, 73, formerly of Sun City, passed away peacefully February 2, 2013, in Cincinnati OH, with her family at her side. Judy was born in Springfield, MN, to John and Dorothy Murphy and raised in Marshall, MN. She graduated from the Holy Redeemer Catholic High School in 1957. She married William Erickson in 1958. After graduation from forestry school, Bill worked for the U.S. Forest Service in five states before retiring in 1987. Judy was a willing partner as they moved nine times during his career. Judy worked for ten years as a student advocate at the vocational school in Cadillac, MI. She loved the interaction with the students.
After retiring, they moved to Lake Amelia near Glenwood, MN to be with Judy's parents, and eventually bought a home in Alexandria, MN. They wintered in Sun City, AZ, for a number of years, and eventually became full time residents. In 2011, they moved to Cincinnati to be closer to family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Tom. She is survived by her husband Bill, son Mark (Jennifer) of Lawrenceburg, IN, daughter Melissa Polk of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren Cameron and Riley, sister Joy Murphy of Minneapolis, MN, brothers Gary of Laverne, MN, and Dennis (Colleen) of Glenwood, MN/ Sun City, AZ, sister-in-law Suzanne Murphy of Worthington, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews. Judy truly loved her family and many friends.
Private services were held and her remains will be scattered at the family burial plot in Russell, MN.
