D. D. Ames, who died Sunday morning, August 10, following a long illness, was buried the following Tuesday, funeral services occurring at the undertaking rooms of J. F. Moore, Rev. N. M. Gillespie and Rev. N. M. Ragland conducting the devotionals. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Ames was born in Sandusky, Ohio, 78 years ago. He belonged to a pioneer family, which emigrated from Ohio to Missouri and later to Arkansas, making their home at Avoca. His last days were lived in Fayetteville.
His son, E. K. Ames, of Omaha, Nebraska, was present at the funeral.
