Fred B. Anderson, 71, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 5:40 A.M. on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois.
He was born on Monday, June 12, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois the son of the late Harold B. and Rose (Zabello) Anderson. He married Annetta Cullins on February 4, 1967 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Surviving family members include his wife: Annetta Anderson of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 3 daughters: Sheryl Theil and husband Matt of Niles, Illinois, Sheron Minier and husband Jeff of O'Fallon, Missouri and Shelly Brueggeman and husband Ken of Hamel, Illinois; 4 grandchildren: Savannah Theil, Jack Theil, Chance Brueggeman and Cullin Brueggeman.
His parents and one infant brother preceded him in death. ARRANGEMENTS: GRAVESIDE SERVICES: were held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at East Salem Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois. Father John Iffert officiated. INTERMENT: East Salem Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois. Members of Mt. Vernon American Legion Post #141 conducted Full Military Honors at the cemetery. VISITATION: There was no visitation held. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the St. Mary Catholic Church Building Fund or to Furry Friends Animal Shelter and will be accepted at the funeral home, cemetery of may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
