Bill Arnold was under care of the Idaho State Veterans Home in Pocatello when he died at age 81. He was born, raised, and graduated from high school in Onalaska and attended Junior College in Centralia, WA. During World War II he served in the Army Air Force, mainly in Italy, until discharged November, 1945. While stationed in Pocatello, Bill met June Fielding. They married on December 24, 1945, in Idaho Falls. For the first five years following their marriage, Bill and June lived in Onalaska. Next, they returned to Idaho, where Bill worked on Palisades Dam. Other dams where Bill worked include: Hells Canyon, on the ID/OR border; Glen Canyon, near Page, AZ; the Oroville, CA dam; and Teton Dam near St. Anthony. In 1976, they moved to American Falls, where they lived for 24 years before returning to Idaho Falls in March of 2000.
Bill was wurvived by his wife, June Arnold, of Idaho Falls, and his sister, Jean Arnold, of Onalaska, WA. He was preceded by his parents, Clarence Ellsworth Arnold and Louise Nowadnick Arnold, and by an infant son. Services were held April 11, 2002, at Wood Chapel of the Pines.
